October Fishing Report
Hey guys, Time for a report on the fishing the past few weeks. Aaron and I have been experimenting with more bait fishing from our Kayaks in Mal Pais this past week and have had some interesting hook ups. we haven’t landed the big one yet but it is coming soon to a Kayak near you! This weeks catch has included Red Snapper, Mutton Snapper, Baby Hammer Head Sharks and some freight trains that broke us off and even spooled us once!
On Friday (Oct 18) the offshore fishing boys with boat and motor brought in the first Dorados of the season. They averaged about 10 kilos each and we should see a lot more of that in the coming weeks. Weather has been a little rainy but not so bad we haven’t been able to get out and some mornings have been sunny and beautiful.
Beach fishing at Playa Santa Teresa has also been good using Sand Fleas on light tackle. Our catch has been Corvina, Red Snapper, Pompano and Black Drum.
The Snook fishing from river mouths has also been good with 10-12 kilo fish being reported on the Peninsula. Most are being caught on lures as the mullet and sardines have been hard to catch.
Thats it for now… Go Fish!
